I like this. You have good descriptions of a variety of different characters, and are able to tie all those different characters into a cohesive, interesting story. I think the prose could be better in a lot of places— many of the descriptions of setting are very vague — but overall this is a neat parable that wraps up really well. Thanks for writing!

EDIT: Would you mind if I did a follow up/additional story based on this using the character of the desert genie again?

Please do write an additional story with the character. A "miraji" is my name for the character as I didn't want to actually use the words genie or djinn to describe it.
