I was considering starting a database of supernatural objects/entities similar to the SCP Foundation, but with a less clinical tone. I'm curious if anyone is interested in this idea, if there is interest I will try to write something.
This is an idea I've been tempted to do at one point, and I don't think it'll end anywhere good. We are not just the Foundation but with a slightly different format. While there's no reason it couldn't work, it would have to be done particularly well.
My headcannon has the SH as a very word-of-mouth-based organization. While some stuff is written down, it's primarily about talking to the right person or people who know what's up with that guy who can vomit swarms of wasps. So them meticulously documenting everything seems a bit odd to me. I also agree with what Bunton said wholeheartedly.
I think Mann's suggestion is probably the best way one could go about this, but I will add one caveat: if you do decide to do this, I would avoid trying to present it as being an extensive record of all anomalies. Part of this site's charm is the knowledge that the articles here are only a snapshot of a much grander thing.
I actually quite like the idea of a Book based around supernatural objects. If you come on chat, we can help you with getting it started.
