Real Time Chat

Our main chat room is a discord server, the Reading Room. Come in, we have cozy chairs, hot drinks, and arcane texts. Rules and principles from Site Rules still apply. Remember to read the Orientation and join the site if you haven't already!

Rules are simple. They are as follows:

1) Don't be a dick. Archivists (admins) and Pages (staff) can judge what this means as they see fit. This includes harassing other users, disrupting conversation excessively, starting fights just for the sake of it, etc, etc. Don't troll or be a creep. Hopefully you can judge what dickish behavior looks like for yourself, and if you can't, you'll be gone quick.
2) If you're under 15, you're getting banned.
3) Sexism/racism/homophobia/transphobia/ableism/etc. are non-starters here. They will be reasons for quick bans if we decide it's necessary.
4) Use the channels appropriately. Read the channel descriptions.
5) Don't post spam.
6) Don't post NSFW content, illegal content, or gore.
7) If something has flashing images, tag with an epilepsy warning . Use spoiler tags if it's a GIF. "You can mark attachments as spoilers by uploading the attachment, then clicking the Mark as Spoiler checkbox before you press upload." You can also change the filename to make it a spoiler, by adding "SPOILER_" to the beginning of the name.
8) This place is for discussing the Library. SCP tangential talk is okay to a degree, but the focus is the Library.
9) You get the Wordsmith role if you've written for the site, and you get the Artisan role if you've posted a gallery page featuring your creative work.

We reserve the right to change or modify these rules at any time. The final authority on chat issues, as well as all site issues, is DrMann. Contact staff if you have any questions.
