And still the rains came
rating: +1+x

When the rains come we celebrated dancing in the streets splashing in puddles
Praising the gods for the gift of rain
On the second day when it didn’t stop we celebrate even more
Additional water for the plants and us
On the seventh day and it has not slowed down we are somber
Whispering that we are cursed

When the mud comes we cry
Digging up what can be salvaged
Burying the dead
And still the rains come

When the flood comes we
Are forced to evacuate our homes
Up the mountain slipping and falling
Carrying everything we could on our backs
Leaving too much behind
And still the rains come
