I mainly include the SCP stuff because I'll be writing for both sites, I'm just waiting on membership applications to reopen there after an apparent spamming that went on recently. So it would still be the same POV character, but SCP-related writing would go there and non-SCP-related writing would go here. To go with your critique, perhaps the former could be involving the time they were in the Foundation, and the latter could be after? Oh, and on the anomalous note, that was just me not coming up with a better word so thank you for that! Those fit better~

But yes, I think I can still make both work! It just depends on how; the more original stuff would obviously take way higher priority, but I also enjoy giving my own spin to existing ideas to expand on their many possibilities. It's not so much that I don't want to make my own stuff, it's that I want to look at the existing material from another perspective in the canon I want to create. Even if I don't post it, I may still do it for my own personal writing~

EDIT: Oh, and as for formatting, I'm not sure yet! I'm just spit-balling ideas, I have the most experience with novel/narrative writing but may use more of a journal format or even poetry to give myself a challenge. I'm a bit rusty with it.

I'd like to start by saying that this seems like a story for the SCP wiki, not for the Wanderer's Library. This seems like it would rely heavily on SCP groups and concepts, and that kind of heavy reliance doesn't belong here in the Library.

What I mean is that a researcher working for the Serpents Hand, anomalous objects, and even brief references to the SCP wiki could work well in a story for the Library, since you can still explain those individual concepts quickly without having to dive deep within cross-links or blocks of explanatory text, but SCP research and the kind of explicit conflict between the SCP Foundation and the Serpent's Hand that you mention might be better off for the SCP wiki. To use one of your examples, a decoding effort for SCP-049's journals wouldn't be a good thing to include—on the other hand, briefly mentioning that one of the projects that the protagonist worked on was solving the journals of a pseudo-scientist that the Jailors gave dead bodies to for no good reason, might be a slightly better option. Best option would be to create something wonderfully weird and just flow with that.

With that said, this concept could still work, albeit a little watered down:

• The POV could be a Serpent's Hand member. I wouldn't recommend them being a Foundation researcher, although you could mention that they were formerly one. In this case, you would also probably want to reference the Foundation as "the Jailors". They could also do research, but I would recommend that the subject of the research be of your own creation/something else in the Library, and separate from SCP-heavy articles.

• A standpoint like this, in between reason and morals, definitely could work. Befriending dangerous research subjects is also possible.

• This could work, too, although they probably wouldn't refer to themselves as "anomalous"; "gifted" or "magical" or something with the same tone would fit better.

In summary, keep the references light, make your own personal message and content stronger. Don't be afraid to create your own stuff. If you really want to bring in an SCP Object, or something that would equally require background reading, make sure to include a cross-link—but, obviously, don't abuse links and references.

• The POV character is possibly a member of The Serpent's Hand, even perhaps a researcher that works in conjunction with The Serpent's Hand and the SCP Foundation for the goal of understanding how these objects came to be and why their nature is as it is, especially for the seemingly mundane but very unusual (such as the nature of SCP-662's "Mr. Deeds" in teleportation and revival) or in an attempt to find a way to decode SCP-049's journals. SCP research, of course, wouldn't be all they do. They'd be doing plenty of other things with the strange and extraordinary too.

• The character themself may have a point of view where they're "in the middle" of the Foundation's general view and The Serpent's Hand's general belief; essentially under an "some things are truly harmful, but an understanding should still be found" sort of mindset. In terms of classic alignments, they may fall under "True Neutral". Otherwise seems very isolated from a thematic standpoint (but on a sillier note, would probably want to befriend a sentient SCP or other such entity they may encounter, even the dangerous ones).

• Are they anomalous in their own right? No one really knows, maybe not even them. As far as they're aware, their upbringing was painfully dull. Or could that be attributed to a dosage of a Class-B Amnestic? Either way, they also seem rather unbothered by the things they witness in their research, further questioning who they really are or maybe if they're just a little out-of-touch…

Those are just some ideas that have been swirling through my head lately~ What do you all think, would any of this be worth working into a character, a story, or even a series?
