I'm pretty sure that the SCP wiki says the the Serpent's Hand defends against aggressive SCP Foundation, Global Occult Coalition, and/or Chaos Insurgency raids via returned gunfire and / or spellcasting (was not clear, it just said that members of those organizations wouldn't last long inside the library).

1) Sounds like an interesting task for either Pages or a different type of Librarian!

2) You're probably right, maybe Librarians have stations/schedules/specific routes? Something like that would be good enough for enforcement.

3) There aren't any stories, but with the context of things these days…Maybe it's worth writing one. What do you think?

For falling shelves and fires, I assume they'll probably use standard earthquake-proof design, like bolting the shelves to the floor and making the shelves out of fire-resistant material or covering it (and the books too, perhaps) with some kind of fire retardant.

For actions carried out by patrons, assuming the Library has firmly established rules (which they most likely do), I don't think this would be too big of a problem. For its enforcement, I'm not quite sure. Staffed security posts every few kilometres?

For diseases, I'm not quite sure either. Health checks upon entry? Are there stories about plagues that happened within the Library?

uh, if I recall correctly, pataphysical stuff on the SCP wiki includes entities related to the reality of literature and fiction, right?

I think how a pataphysical force/entity reacts in the Library depends on the nature of the literature. Something that first came to mind is the issue of duplicates of pataphysical entities, since technically all literature can exist in the Library at the same time.

I'm not really an expert, but it's not really something well-established here. Any writer's fair game, I suppose.

The standard protocol for invaders/individuals that may be harmful to the Library and its patrons seems somewhat established already, especially on the SCP wiki, but what about other things like fires or falling shelves ? And what about actions carried out by patrons already in the Library, like violence, spreading diseases, hurting each other unintentionally…

I'll probably edit this post once I get more ideas/when others comment and discuss here.
