I know it's over a year later but this is awesome. I associate Tiamat with the biblical serpent in the garden, both cthonic deities who ultimately get their revenge on Marduk/God via the reality of entropy. Great poetic justice.

Also reminded me of these classic lines from LOTR:

"In place of a Dark Lord, you would have a queen! Not dark, but beautiful and terrible as the dawn! Treacherous as the sea! Stronger than the foundations of the earth! All shall love me, and despair!"

This is vivid and creates a good atmosphere, and I like that it doesnt immediately reveal its meaning. What I can get of the story is interesting. I feel like it's rated lower than it should be. You in the recent posts! Come read this!

Her response to the pirates' faux offering (as they are taking everything from the ship they've boarded) is to weaken their social contract, which pushes them juuust over the edge to mutiny, accidentally set their own ship on fire, and all die. Which pleases a chaos goddess as the entropy of the system has now increased.

Tl;dr the second law of thermodynamics, just like death, is inexorable.

I was hoping that eventually I'd understand this poem…But after a few days, I am still severely confused…Any tips for interpreting this? I'm having a really hard time finding a cohesive message, sorry if I'm missing a reference or something…

I really like the language use here regardless.

I really wanted to do something with prompt 17:

17. The plunder was strange this time. In the depths of the ruined ship, they found a glowing, pitch black statue shaped like a half-human god.
