I completely understand where you're coming from here. For what it's worth (and I understand that my intention matters far less than the actual piece) my intention in future parts was to have it shown that all of these characters did exist, and were erased by mysterious means. However, that absolutely does not come through in this part, so your critique is warranted.

This was well written; I liked the sort of unrehearsed tone of the narrator. Also, I'm a sucker for the trope of "we found this document—but the thing that it documents never existed at all wooOOoooOo"

Have you listened to the podcast Within the Wires? Season 2, iirc, is a narrative in the form of art museum audio guides, and quite good.

This is an article which gives an intriguing opening premise, and slowly, pulls the wrap, engulfing you in its multi-tiered story along the way. I was interested in Halloway, then the Order, then by Calvin's position in the Order and his relation to Evelyn. The lead-up to that ultimate point kept me hooked.

However, I was less interested in the idea that Calvin, too, does not exist — and even less so when the same was revealed of Miranda. This entry's framing is successful to the extent that, as you are led to believe these fictional/missing events are truths, you become more invested. But I think the effectiveness of that framing is stripped away when it works conversely to that, which this entry also does. An ideal version of this piece, to me, would be one which doesn't go one stage further in declaring it all a fiction again.

That said, this is largely an enjoyable piece — so good work!

Personally, I really enjoyed this piece. I had a lot of fun with the format and the darker turn in the middle is quite nice. I kind of agree with Draven, where there could've been something more at the end, but I don't mind it so much to not give a +1 because the feeling, voice, and format work really well.

It has a very interesting premise, and I wanted to know more about what's happening, the introduction and exposition were really good, but then the ending left me a bit underwhelmed. I don't feel like I've read a great story, I feel like I've read just a cool story. You set up a really interesting premise and then didn't deliver the ending as well as it could've been delivered. I realize you can't really write a novella in 48 hours, but I feel like you could've given us more. +0, because I didn't hate it, and in fact quite liked it until the end.

A city forgotten is remembered in the new exhibition opening at the Arona Museum of the Arts, but the curator may have other motivations.
