The character relationships are so engaging and the way you write emotion is feels so real. I enjoyed your very human descriptions of the struggles they went through, and perhaps my favourite part of this is the theme of care and love for the people around you, despite everything. I liked the questioning whether we are worthy to take care of someone else and having to come to terms with losing those we love — and additionally, the theme of caring for another the way Raja was cared for: its a legacy of love, passed down through generations. The emotional climax was truly bittersweet. My only criticism was that the jumping between flashbacks and the present moment felt a bit confusing, and some descriptions I would have liked to go on for longer, because the pacing at points felt uneven. Other than that, this a really great first story.
