Really recreates this sort of mass produce, impersonally cruel energy that is very similar to the vibes of 40k. In that regard, I can clearly see the inspiration, but also the uniqueness of the piece itself.

Overall, yeah, just a really solid piece. +1

So from an outsider's perspective: I think this holds up fantastically by itself, it can survive without needing the crutch of knowledge-of-inspiration. Gets a burden-laden, and cancer-ridden +1 from me.

The 40K influences are apparent (it’s easy to see this dude as an AdMech, for example, and you did literally state the inspiration) but while there isn’t a huge amount to set this setting apart the execution- especially the end line, which hits like a comically large hammer- is excellent. I really liked how you largely limit what you describe of the setting to the protagonist’s pains, it makes the story feel a lot more claustrophobic. Glad to see some more grimy sic-fi on the site, +1, praise the Omnissiah
