May expand this some point soon, I honestly increasingly feel I didn't quiite do the idea justice and there's clear room for expansion and improvement.

Fair enough, I don't necessarily disagree. I'm likely going to go back soon and at minimum add probably 2 more sections when I get the chance at minimum so the narrative and tonal progression isn't so quick and minimalist.

I didn;t like this, but I didn't dislike it. It had a somewhat flat narrative, and it didn't grab me at all. This may just be my issue entirely, but I'm going to come back to this later to see if it grabs me again. I think it may be because there feels like a distinct lack of authorial voice in this, perhaps because it's from a journal perspective.

Yeah I get the shortness ding, originally this was a five recipe piece, but One didn't really fit… that is in fact where timing comes in; I couldn't immediately figure out how to make the extra section work.

No time constraints anymore though, so I'll probably revisit and retry soon! I would like to fill out the emotional decline of Marge and details of endless mansion a bit more anyway

Huh. I liked this! Nice Backrooms shifting rooms sort of deal going on here. Love the narrator. Could've gone on a bit longer, in my opinion, to draw out that difference between the second to last and final entries, but I sense that that was due to being pressed for time by the contest. RIP to that, by the way — maybe next time! Sweet and interesting, love the worldbuilding and implied characters. Plus the implied sentience of the House. Yum. Shiitake salad, sauteed shiitake, shiitake noodles + shiitake sauce, and a dessert of shiitake lumped into a cake. With a single oregano leaf on the side, for taste. Delicious, as someone who loves shiitake.

This was originally meant for the Debate Club Contest, but couldn't quite finish in time. I already wrote it though, so I'm posting anyway! Also, A lot of setting-level details are more implied than stated here, but I might come back and do a spoiler-y explanation if it seems necessary.

P.S. I also removed a particular recipe/edition last minute. I may add some version of it back later, but only if I figure out how to make it "fit" better with the others.
