If one considers SCP-106 sentient, then I encourage you to ask its motivation for entering the Library. Sure, the Foundation may choose to portray 106 as mindless and ever-violent, but consider its actions as those of a frustrated prisoner. If it found itself in a place that gives knowledge for free and ensures (or at least tries to ensure) methods for keeping patrons safe from each other, what would it pursue? Continued mindless violence, or exploration? Continued hatred and loathing, or hope? Mind you, I'm not as well-versed in SCP as I once was, so if this is wrong then please disregard.

-Styg

Dr Nepalwala's comments is a common headcanon generally accepted by the community; however, there is no canon, so there are no set rules on how the Library does or does not function.

My suggestion is that if you can find a way to justify it to fit the story you're telling, generally the audience will be accepting of it. I've seen stories here on WL that when something dangerous entered the Library, it used some sort of magic barrier to prevent the Library from noticing it ( a-cold-moon-sets-on-the-shelves ), it was created from a discarded husk of insectoid staff ( the-bibliovores ), or they moved quickly enough to not get caught.

With the case of 106, I'd ask yourself 1, what does it want to accomplish in the Library, and 2, what do you want the end result of them being in the Library to be? I can easily see 106's abilities giving it a mobility advantage to outrun the staff, or to be deadly even to Library staff in a fight. But since both of those damage the Library, I would strongly suspect the staff would be hunting it down the entire time its there. That could lead to a cool chase or fight scene, but if you don't want that to be what happens, then I'd consider a stealth approach or something helping 106 get into the Library unnoticed.

SCP-106 will eventually get overpowered by the docents since harming the patrons is illegal in the Library.

I'm currently writing a tale for the SCP Wiki about SCP-106 and think of having the Old Man enter the Wanderers Library. I don't know if this would be feasible because 106 kind kills most beings it comes across. You guys are by far the experts of how the library would work, so how would this hypothetical senario play out in your minds?

-DrSoot
