Such a devastatingly hushed piece, a calm kind of heartbreak for a life that is pulled out of one by the expectations of a phantom zeitgeist. Makes me think of the what-ifs and neverminds of my own family.

This is great. The emotion is clear, and the pacing of the poem is exactly how it feels to be the child of immigrants in the United States. Not sure if that's what you were going for, but that's how it resonates with me. Thanks for sharing this.

Hello,

Uncanny and Pallid have a better understanding of how these poems are supposed to work, but I don't fully pick up on these things, so I shall focus on the imagery and narrative.

In this regard, the work is very strong. The imagery is evocative of visions which are very familiar to me, and which effectively convey the sort of love-of-the-world which emerges from the genuine adoration for the people who constitute us. There is an extraordinary feeling of gravity in one's life when all of the co-conspirators who have given it to us are so wholly themselves, so wholly us, and so wholly remain. This work portraits that feeling very well. A very easy +1. Thank you for sharing.

this falls on the side of being an upvote for me, but i agree with pallid: there are a lot of places where i think things could be rephrased to be more sharp and concise.

i thought this was interesting, the story was well thought out, and I can definitely see the direction that this goes with, but for me I think that the way the sentences are written could be tweaked a bit, as some of them run a little long while others following are rather short, along with just some awkward ones placed here and there. I think this is an easy fix, and I enjoyed it, so I'm giving it a +1
