In fact you can add to any book you like, so long as it fits. If it doesn't seem to fit, then someone from staff may move it or ask you to move it.

You can look here at the Index for descriptions of most of the books here.
I am setting to work on a pretty self-contained story (I am not sure where one can read more about the history of the Hand, so I hesitate to write anything with real connections to its parts) written by an old and introverted member of the Hand, regarding his correspondence with a teasing anonymity who signs her letters 'Y. K. W.', and his attempts to discover her identity.

I've currently started a journal entry from the Collected Logs of the Hand involving the death of a thylacine deity when the species goes extinct, and his eventual revival due to the actions of the Hand and a certain thylacine cloning and breeding project. There's also background information on gods in the journal; it looks like I took inspiration from American Gods due to the sheer number and the fact that knowing a god isn't that big a deal, but I actually started the idea for how gods work beforehand.

I'm also working on a guide to elementals, that with permission I would put in the same book as On Demons.

Gets better as they get down. Eventually they figure out that traditional oceanic stratification is reversed, and the bottom is lit, because things down there metabolize chemicals and produce light. There's a whole coral reef at the bottom of the sea, and all because of deep-sea vents. There's also an overabundance of nutrients in the upper levels caused by massive upwellings.

I could have sworn I put in a bit about the page being splattered with blood. The cencored bits were part of a joke, It looks like he was swearing, but when you get to a clean page the worst he says is "gosh darn." Lolol! Get it, get it… Okay, it was a dumb joke.

Conciseness is something I have a problem with; I can never tell if i'm over-explaining things.

Needs a whole lot of editing.

Please don't use [obscured] as a censor. If you don't want to write "shit" "fuck" "damn" etc then stick to stuff like "gosh darn". That actually adds character to the piece and is somewhat charming. Unless you're going to have an in-story reason why his story is censored.

Cut down on some of the irrelevant stuff or make it more fun to read.

An example of a great place to cut is the beginning. This paragraph:

At the time of this writing professor Atkins had been cursed by a Michelle Davisburg non-lingual memetic enchantment (known incorrectly as the wanderers hex), possibly transmitted through a complex pattern of finger and eyebrow manipulation. Lost in the midwestern United States, he was compelled by the enchantment to travel in the opposite direction last indicated to He maintained enough lucidity to jury rig a workable inverted guide charm that would pull him in random "safe" directions. Unfortunately his alignment was off and the locations he visited would better fit the definition of secluded, unknown, or, in some cases, intentionally hidden.

…could be much better if you cut it down to this:

At the time of this writing professor Atkins had been cursed by a Michelle Davisburg non-lingual memetic enchantment (known incorrectly as the wanderers hex), possibly transmitted through a complex pattern of finger and eyebrow manipulation.

Plus a sentence about the journal recovery, and you're set. The rest of that information you can work into the story itself. (This is ignoring the typos in that sentence. :P)

This is neat. However, it's a teensy bit too close to something I'd expect to read at the Foundation minus the horro. I'd prefer a higher percentage of Weird & Wonderful. It doesn't have to be big spectacular weird stuff (though it could be), but I wanted more of something.

And rethink some of the references to magic. I don't mind them, but I would also like stuff that's less expected. If you're going to have mages and magic in there, make it your own. (Think Gears' "Book of Ur", with its fascinating take on classic fantasy magic.)

I guess I'll post this here as opposed to creating a new thread: an inside-out animal. The latin name is just something I got off of google translator, I'll change it later.

This is in no way finished, I just wanted someone elses opinion on it's tone. I like the thought that the Hand would hire proffessors, and publish scientific articles like Genii Loci, but I also felt that a realistic "new speicies" report would be boring.

If you'd like a place to put drafts, or to put things up for review, go ahead and use the SCP Foundation Sandbox Wiki: http://sandbox.scp-wiki.net/ (Yes, it's ostensibly for the SCP Foundation, but the guy who runs it - pooryoric - has also made it available for Library use.)

Link the page you make here when you'd like a review and one or more of us will tell you what we think. :)

The Book of Ur, where i splash about in fantasy, steam punk, horror, and who knows what else. It's a world that's starting to get unhinged, where industry, magic, tradition and evolution are starting to descend in to war. Thus far, all i have are "detail" pieces, just fleshing out the planet of Ur, but i hope to have real stories someday…

The Minders: People in gray jackets and brass-and-smoked-glass goggles who sneak along the dreamways, making no sounds, taking memories, dreams, and desires to sell in the Shadow Market.

The Shadow Market: A marketplace set up Elsewhere where the Minders sell things. The buildings are ramshackle, crooked, and much too close together, as though they're conspiring and whispering to one another. Marshall, Carter and Dark have agents here. You can buy many things here, and you can lose even more.

There's a house in Nebraska where it's never midnight.

And what to say at close of day, as I bow my head?
The flowers bloom before the tomb of these, the righteous dead.
