Took a bit to figure out what 'hollowed out' meant here. Creepy, interesting stuff. Love the scientific approach you give to this creature, and the mystery revolving around it and this other 'grater' entity. Cool bits all around.

When I was younger I loved speculative biology (I still love it, but not as much as I did when I was a kid), so naturally I was drawn to the Howes Bestiary articles. But when I first read this article, it blew my 11-year¹ old mind.

I would like this more if some of the pacing was fixed at the end, at which point the story was just dragging. I feel like the description reports would go at the start, in all honesty, as background knowledge. There are also some minor errors, and I think there were even more before Lt Flops cleaned it up…Overall, it's not an extremely good example of what a report should look like.

An aim sheet will firmly constrict around the creature leaving enough room to breath while completely immobilizing it. Most catchers paint a coat of tranquilizer on to the inner face to calm the creature. Some use small strips of the sheet to bind broken limbs or dangerous jaws. Very useful, Highly used.

It has the added benefit of obscuring it from view and obfuscating its form. The outer face can be presented as several different camouflages including: quilt, blue tarp, painters tarp garbage bag or body bag, matching costumes for personnel escorting the creature can be provided.

I normally don't care for formatting tricks, but I think you did an excellent job in this case. It does increase the readability for me. Also, I like the use of sketches.

Here's version two, besides quite a few little tweaks the biggest change is the formatting. Hopefully this will reduce the wall of text I had earlier as well as more closely match the link I posted above.

The reason the fast spreading cheesegraters never became public knowledge was partially because they rotted extremely quickly like their successors, and because of The Foundation. Newbie agents were tasked with dropping anchors down the things' throats and dragging them out of the ground with a truck.

I didn't put that in because it was gross.

In all likelihood I'll continue to change things 'cause my skill don't match my standards.

Thanks, adding extra letters to words happens to be a speciality of mine.

I, for some reason, decided to post it before I was completely finished or satisfied, and from a device with no spell check. I'm probably going to revise and compact the whole thing at some point.

…but jesus christ you had a ton of errors. The worst was your "its/it's" mixups. I fixed a bunch of them but I doubt I got everything, so maybe give it another once over please :P

Format is loosely based on this. I was interested in the idea of actual doctors and proffessors working part time for the hand, letting them use their labs to dissect weird things as well as the idea of the hand hiring private companies to capture dangerous things. Basically, less institutionalized than the foundation.

If anyone sees any grammar or spelling errors, feel free to change them. Also, if the flow doesn't work or the articles seem disjointed please tell me. I'm new to this whole deal. I may add sketches depending on how sciency I can get them. I hope you like it, all three of you active members.
