This article was inspired by the fact that I've had the word "heresiographer"1 and the name "Lyle Burnley" bouncing around in my head for the past three years. Thanks to Hippo, ARD, and rounderhouse for reading and giving feedback.
This is exactly my kind of thing. I agree with MacLeod — there's enough fuel in here for another half-dozen stories, and my only gripe with it is that I'll never get the answers I crave. Very well done.
As Macleod and MaliceAforethought said, this is pure brilliance. This document combines subversion of expectations and the feeling of "just wanting that little bit more" that leaves you on the edge of your seat. The articles on WL are so creative in their execution: things like this not only inspire me to branch out and write more varied forms of fiction, but help diversify the site and the genre as a whole. Well done!

This is amazing, so much so that I completely forgot what the word 'heriosographer' meant by the end of it because I was too busy mulling over each line. Super, super dense, and like the other comments said - each line could be it's own short story. You get the feeling this person lived a storied, but accursed life, and you're only here to see the very end of it. Melancholic reflections on a world you'll never get a glimpse of, and people you'll never come to know. The ending lines entrusting sins and relinquishing family ties to their children hit incredibly hard for me, and I'm not even sure why. Manages to sound cool and comes loaded with emotion, I guess. Same could be said for every line in this relatively short piece - an excellent use of space.
It builds and builds and builds until the second-last entry made me laugh with how beautiful the only-hinted-at story was. Fantastic.
How can something so boring -and I mean this I the best way possible- be so interesting??? The way each bequethment is able to have so much history to it is masterful. I don't know if you're still around to see this comment but if you do, awesome job!
I also have to admit, I. Did kind of tear up at that ending.
Look at my podcaaaaaaaast!!! It's about SCP :)

This is amazing, and I'd like to echo a previous comment, "I wanna know more about this guy". This really piqued my interest and I learned a new word! One of the best entries I've read so far.
