Ridiculous. And glorious.
The High Mages of this council are many. Mention could be made of Cenotaph, of Synonym the Scribe Golem, of the Torrid Tabard, of the Kneading Dread, of The Function, of the various light mages, and so on and so forth… but further name-dropping would have been gratuitous.
EDIT: Also, thanks to Riemann for suggesting the title.
It amazes me how you managed to make this serious and comedic at the same time. Bravo!
Was this tale based on an actual incident? I ask because it feels like the characters are saying "The Library sucks, lets make our own Library, with blackjack and hookers!" and the "name-dropping " mentioned by the author sound like they're supposed to be references to actual Wikidot usernames.
I love this to bits. From the extravagant names, to the fascinating discussion about magical weirdness, to the humour. Very fun read.
RE: Crow-Cat above — for a moment, this felt like it was about the growth of the SCP Wiki and efforts to move it off Wikidot onto its own platform, but I think that's coincidental more than anything.

Yeah, I can def see the simile between the article and the growth and need/want of moving offsite. Really interesting.
Anyhow, onto the piece itself, it's just so fun. The comedy works great here, and all these grand details thrown around as if nothing just help that sense of comedy shine even more. Really liked that ~ fella.
