Heyo, friends and country-ladies,
As I am sure many of you noticed, a few days ago the layout of the Wanderers' Library was replaced with a new theme called the "Wanderers' Dust Jacket Theme."
This new theme brings with it a number of visual improvements as well as accessibility ones including:
Visual
- New Logo
- A couple of fancy structural elements that are available to use site-wide (An alternative HR and the Fancy Frame Border)
- Fully functioning responsive design
- New tabbed content design
- Paragraphs will no longer break in the middle of a word
- Page options and post options are now buttons rather than just links
- The removal of the side menu to allow for more room and a better focus on the content of the page.
Accessibility
- New top-menu navigation on desktop which can be tabbed through in order to navigate.
- All elements are now based on the Root Em (or rem), a unit of measure that scales according to the font-size set within the users' browser. This is an important accessibility option.
- Post input text box is now manually scalable in the horizontal and vertical axis.
- The top bar is sticky on supporting browsers, a feature to assist those with limited movement in not needing to scroll to the very top of the page to navigate the site.
There are countless other improvements I could list here but these are some of the primary ones.
As with any large change like this, there are going to be issues not previously accounted for during development. If you come across any issues, please message me (Woedenaz) here on Wikidot and I will get to it as soon as I can.
Thank you, friends, and I hope you enjoy!
