I've been lurking on this wiki and the SCP for some time now, but have always refrained from posting. I've been toying with a concept for a series of stories, but there are a few details that have been difficult for me to nail down. I thought I might see if any more experienced writers could help iron out the details.
The Pitch: A chronicle following a group of Library inhabitants mapping out various Ways. Ideally, the story will bounce back and forth between episodic adventures through various worlds ala Sliders and revealing the backgrounds of the protagonists.
The Characters: This, specifically, is where I'm having a bit of trouble. I have a general outline for each member of the four man band, but the devil's in the details. I'm trying to make each one interesting enough to bring out stories and be worthy of inclusion in the Wiki.
The Librarian: A vanilla human who accidentally found himself in the Ways while working in a mundane library. He is intensely curious about the hidden side of the world he has uncovered and seeks to understand it. He is the one to propose the group's mapping project.
Age: Mid-late 30s
Gender: Male (Although this is subject to change.)
Group role: Scholar
The Opener: An anomalous individual, formerly held by the Foundation under the designation SCP-4601. Able to unlock and open any locked door. (Not certain how exactly these powers occurred or how they work just yet.) She escaped Foundation custody during a Serpent's Hand raid and has been looking over her shoulder ever since. Certain members of the Hand consider her powers an asset to be used at their discretion in payment for her rescue. As such, she finds herself caught between powerful forces in the supernatural world.
Age: Early-mid 20s
Gender: Female (Again, subject to change.)
Group Role: Transportation
The Knight: The Chosen warrior of god. Well, a god, at any rate. His powers are granted by an eldritch abomination with a flair for Arthurian legend. (The nature of this alien entity is in the air.) His master is a decent sort, as fifth dimensional monsters go, but doesn't quite understand humans. He tries to balance his duties with his mundane life. Worldhopping comes in handy with his missions.
Age: Late 20s
Gender: Male
Group Role: Warrior
The Legacy: The child of two members of the Serpent's Hand. She grew up without ever knowing the masquerade of normality. Much of her childhood was spent in the Library itself. She knows most of the long term residents, and has ties to a number of anomalous organizations.
Age: Late 20s, early 30s
Gender: Female
Group Role: Face
This is what I have to start. Thoughts and ideas are welcome.
