Special thanks to my real life friend Katie, for the writing prompt and for forcing me to actually finish something I started.

This is my first post to the site, and to those of you who greeted me when I arrived not long ago, thank you. This is sincerely one of the most welcoming communities I've ever encountered. I hope to stay for a while, contribute what I can, and improve alongside all of you.

This story is very touching. The concept is straightforward and, even if we're missing all the details, entirely understandable and relatable.

I've been reading several stories every day on here since I joined, and this is the first one to make me tear up. This was a beautiful piece, and I'll be looking forward to more.
