a better term for this kind of poetry.
hope you don't mind me nerding out for a sec about poetry!
i'm not the author, but i'd call this a "digital visual poem." they come from a very old (think ancient greek) trend of "concrete poetry," in which poems are typeset to form shapes. historically this is usually in the shape of the subject of the poem (which is specifically called a "calligram"). over time these concrete poems tended to become a lot more abstract and non-representational, after dadaism and surrealism came by in their waves; now, recently, with the advent of electronic literature, you often see more and more usage of hypertext in poetry, and digital formatting to introduce visual non-text elements like color—hence "digital visual poetry."
i'm thinking i might edit my poetry guide to include a brief section about digital poetry, as it feels like a medium somewhat well-suited to online experimental/"weird" lit communities like this.
