My first article on the Wanderers' Library, I hope you enjoy it! In this tale, I wanted to focus on the concept of personal forgetfulness, rather than social forgetfulness. Here, a woman has forgotten about the special gift a city has given her, and a journey with her son opens changes her perspective on it.

This tale is dedicated to my mother, who asked me to write her a short story for her birthday.

I think my only issue with this is that it could use more. That is, more atmosphere to soak in and more fleshing out of the mother character. These could be tied together; for instance, the mother could be the one to point out specific details of Cleveland that stand out to her as mementos, thus building up to her emotional reaction more.

That said, it did give me feels, so it works. +1 :)

I really like how both characters have their own kind of forgetfulness. Samuel doesn’t remember Cleveland since he was too young, and his mother, while remembering the place itself, forgot what it meant to her. Was a very touching piece
