One thing that jumps out at me is a bunch of verb tense inconsistency. Couple that with the rather awkward phrasing, and I can conclude that this is in desperate need of a read-aloud or two. I'm not gonna downvote you, because I like where this is headed, but some serious polish is needed before I upvote.

My feelings echo a lot of what Piano said. I'm novoting cause I think it's alright, but I think it could use some work in the grammar/phrasing department. The anime protagonist line at the very start, while not technically being wrong (I understand the intent behind it) also felt out of place after finishing the whole thing.
