I'm absolutely in love with your writing. I actually found you from a Note to my Muse and didn't realize that you also wrote this month's featured story.

I'm thinking that this is about a cycle of abuse. The scars of the abused never heals, they never feel safe, but they may feel like it's almost normal. The way an abused child can become an abusive parent. I don't really understand what the speaker feels they were chosen for or what joining the army symbolizes. Still, thank you for writing this piece, I'm sure it's not easy to do so dealing with your past. I hope that you have or will recover and your scars will heal.
