"It did know that as far as the horizon stretched, this dazzling array of silicon and oxygen remained, and it continued far beyond the horizon, presumably until it wrapped back around to this very spot."
Oyster denies flat earth theory. Based.

New favourite. Another banger from our dearest Apian!
What is life if not the contrast between what has been and what will become?
It's almost too short, but I can't imagine adding more to it without having to add a lot. At that point it would be a different story. That said, there's a lot about this I like, a good handful of banger lines, my favorite being "God replied in his usual tone." I really enjoy how this just presents the interaction God and the Oyster had as normal. It just works. Good job!
A little short for my tastes, but that's fine; it's witty, philosophical, jaunty for its length. Very creative idea, for sure — I liked it a lot, even though I didn't expect to when I saw the buttons and the title on the same screen lol. Agreed with Snap, it works very well. Well done.
I still have the problems that I mentioned when you showed it to me. Its short and doesn't really answer why god would spare this one oyster. The ending just felt unnatural and awkward to me. Sorry, I don't love it.
He didn't spare the oyster in the end. I took it as God looking for something or someone to understand his pain or why he did it, but I'm not sure.
While I rolled my eyes at where I thought this was going, I liked the way it ended. +1
May I ask where you thought it was going?
radiance, glorious and cold and blistering all at once, like a star behind the eyes
Felt like just another story where the author self-inserts as the god character/entity and either monologues why humanity/life sucks blah blah blah or just fails to ask themself "What would (a) god actually think and say?". Then the oyster laid it on 'em.
Ah I'm so glad - this is the exact reaction I was going for. I wrote God to be as annoying as possible and was really looking for those eye-rolls there
radiance, glorious and cold and blistering all at once, like a star behind the eyes
I know this is an older post, but I just wanted to say I enjoyed it. It felt very magical to read. Are you the artist for the illustration? It's very good regardless.
somehow i'm just now reading this. i think it's a perfect little crystal of a piece. punchy, highly effective, and to say that it doesn't overstay its welcome is an understatement. anyway, god is a ding dong and humanity should cast him down from his self-righteous perch. +1
