Yay first Wandercon character I've written for (after the contest itself lol)! I've always believed Semeliel was criminally under-read during the contest, so hopefully maybe this addition will draw some eyes to the first pieces that inspired it.

Big thank you to LAN 2D and Stygian Blue for the invaluable crit on this one. Good luck to everyone in the con!

The image was taken by Crow-Cat is housed here and was licensed as CC BY-SA 3.0 here. All the included quotes are real quotes said by the individuals already credited within the piece

But I really liked this! Don't think I've gotten around to reading any of the other pieces with this character, so I might just go and catch up on those next

I like the appearance of the story, but the story felt clunky and drawn out.

Oh no, this poor machine. I like them a lot. I hope they fly somewhere interesting!

Even aside from me just really liking artificial characters, this is a fascinating short story of loneliness and resilience. The format, with textboxes for transmissions, really serves the content.

Semeliel, yes! It's been so long.

Anyhow, this is a really good, punchy piece. I think it could have afforded to be just a tad longer, or show more strongly the passage of time (More spacing between entries, for example) because the piece feels a tad too compressed, at least visually so, but the content is nonetheless really good, and the ending hits just right. Also, really intriguing way of inserting the picture into the story; I liked that a lot.

Read it and enjoyed, went to comment and couldn't think.Reread and got it. I didn't realize it was Semeliel and the quote bot I thought they were it. Makes so much more sense and is really good! +1

Interesting. This is a neat little thing. I don't believe I read Semeliel's works during Wandercon, but this stands pretty well on its own, so that's a mark in your favor. It's…. interesting. It skates (lol) the line between irreverent and maudlin pretty well, and the format is definitely something that works in your favor — you're free to focus on making each line as punchy as possible rather than depending on word choice and capital-p Prose. I like it — it's a fascinating way to deliver some classic thematic questions about artificial minds. And yes, echoing Maxy that the image implementation was very clever.
