I finally posted another thing with C. Ignota. Was not fully convinced I'd ever do that.

This definitely turned out a bit more unsettling than initially planned. I wasn't liking the clumsy comical angle I was going for at first. BUT this turned out fun and I care more about the story actually being interesting than perfectly realizing my initial artistic vision.

The whole concept for this character was based on Cordyceps and that giant honey fungus so I mean I guess the unsettling angle fits pretty well. The whole layout for the story itself is also very loosely based off of a delusion I developed immediately after finding an anti-psychotic that actually worked for me so that probably also contributed.

Also Happy Halloween everyone! There are still a few hours till midnight for me so I'm counting this as a Halloween post. It's… it's kinda spooky. Yeah.

I can't even describe it. The way you toy with perspective (idk if this is first person or second person?? first and a half person???) makes the story flow SO DAMN WELL its insane. The quality of this piece is something I wish I could bottle up and take with me.

Adoration. This slaps, as Oligarch said. The juxtaposition of first person and second makes it feel as though it is the narrator speaking their own actions to the reader. A far cry from the usual second or first — the mix works brilliantly here, I'd say, and helps the narrative along as well. The themes spoken of here are beautiful and work brilliantly, is all I will say. Your writing of this is exquisite and would not be changed for the world. Happy Halloween.

Man this story creates this creeping feeling, works perfectly combined with all the fungal stuff here. It’s absolutely unnerving and I will be craving more from C. Ignota, +1

Pretty cool article. The energy is really something; the juxtaposition between the actions of the 'person' and the talks about the appointment are really good, making the moment where they both combine into a single thread really satisfying.
