Is there one guy on the site who just goes around and downvotes everything? Everything which I looked at yesterday is now one point lower, including my poem which I just posted. Suspicious.
I hope so, then it might mean my stories aren't as bad as I thought. But in all seriousness, I don't know. Maybe you should pm a staff member.
Building off that, I went and looked at the ratings of every story in the past 10 days, and only "three" and "fizzle out" have even recieved a downvote. I'd say that doesn't consist of a pattern, but maybe I'm looking at the wrong place?
Hm. On the SCP wiki where I came from, there were at least three guys blocked for downvoting every single work in Series 7.
Also, I deleted three because apparently no one liked it.
That's a problem encountered on SCP far more than WL. As well, looking at the forum, I can see that you did seek crit and have a good exchange, which can be very frustrating to implement crit and see it still not suceed. To avoid that, I practice always waiting for a second opinion in terms of crit, which allows me to make sure the first critter had it right. In addition, joining the discord can help get crit more accessible. Either way, I know it can be very frustrating, but you have all the right instincts so far and with just a bit of practice I could see your work doing very well!
On my sandbox, I added a lengthier version. Thoughts?
Make an Ideas and Advice post, and I'd be happy to give you a review there.

While it's not unheard of for us to have issues with malicious/spree downvoting, it's not terribly common; if you have reason to believe someone is breaking the rules by doing that, feel free to PM a staff member with a complaint and ideally evidence thereof. You can find a list of staff members here.
