This smells of Styg plenty, but whom else..?
Anyhow, wonderfully done lads. Feels deeply personal in a way, with great feeling behind it that is obscure to the reader but yet satisfying. Honest in its approach, and does not shy away from itself or its themes. Wonderful!
Fires rage just below the surface of the ice.
As with everything you do, this slaps of you. It is ethereal and perfect, a graceful demonstration of your talent. Every word feels like a scalpel cut carefully and exquisitely. Styg, you make me strive to be a better writer. To use one of your own preffered metaphors, this feels like a quiche- rich, textured egg mixed with the meat and vegetables, all coming together to make a delicious tasting pie. Always looking forward to more of you.
The three voices come together remarkably well. I'm not as experienced with Din and Didion, but their style shines through in their bits. I think what makes this piece so good is that all three authors have similar but tangibly different styles of writing. I would definitely pay for thus triple authored book.

Some of the prose escapes me, as I'm not a native speaker, and perhaps it's a bit much here and there. I'm not completely sure if I understood the whole story.
Anyhow, you demonstrate a remarkable talent to focus on one subject and then explore it in depth, even making something like drowning somewhat intimate as a readable experience. I'd be curious to see if there's a larger story connected to this dying world, as there was another story like this.

I find it amazing that this masterpiece has been created before 2023. It's long and detailed and one of the best things I've ever read.
