I really like the imagery of this world you've created. Imagining it in my head was really fun. The ending here feels a little abrupt, leaving me wanting more and not quite satisfied, but that's mostly because of how much I enjoyed the rest of the story. +1
Thank you friend, hopefully part 2 will come soon :]
Don't quite see how this fits the theme, but it is a sweet story. Plain prose, but prose nevertheless — you use it effectively, though I would myself prefer something juicier. The work itself is very tell-don't-show, which put me off it, but I genuinely enjoyed the storytelling when the work got moving and the magic system + world you set up. Like what Oligarch said, this work reminds me quite a bit of Brandon Sanderson's writing style (plain prose, magic system set in stone, detailed high fantasy world with a great evil). It is slightly odd that the ending is so open, but I think that the narrative style chosen for this work is the fault for that — this is something which cannot be resolved effectively in such a short amount of time. All is well! I hope to see more of this in the future.
Tastes like frozen mountain strawberries: small, delicious, their own flavour, part of a grander strawberry cake but able to be eaten on their own. Celeste, anyone? Yum.

What is life if not the contrast between what has been and what will become?
Thanks so much! Yeah, this is a world I've been vaguely detailing for a while now. Really the only part of 'rare' that comes into play is based on perspective. To the boy, his whole life was common until he met this rare new person. To the monster, these two have great potential and it wants to collect them as rarities.
There is a ton more I left out on purpose just because it was getting long and off topic, so I'll make a part 2 real soon. Likely from the girl's point of view next time.
God, I love everything here. The world, the journey, the boy and his new circumstance, it’s all so engrossing. I want to read more of this world and I’m so happy you’re planning a continuation. One of my favorites of the contest. +1!
The world you create here is really good, and, although I wish there was more, what is here is an amazing tale of two people — two worlds mixing in. Love the way you create this magical world seem almost natural, and how the conflict first appears, then is 'resolved'. Pretty cool stuff all around.
Easy +1~
Very intriguing start to what is hopefully a part two coming down the line! Tons of ways to go with this story. Like others have said, the world you built is definitely a highlight and I want to learn more!!
