I have some very very slight guilt at being unable to read parts of this story (curse of the gringo and poor education) but godamn is everything else great. Tightly wri5en as usual, pulling you into the authors mind and world wonderfully. I remember seeing you talk about the book and thinking you were gonna write something about it- I'm glad I was right! Thanks for giving me yet another marker of quality to life up to.

Gotta admit: Pretty good way to get me to want to read El Club de la Salamandra. Never read Sandoval, so this could be interesting.

All in all, excellent piece as always. Really makes me wanna write in español as well. Maybe one day I'll join that Caminero place I've heard so much about.

I don't think I've ever read something that is so reliant on another book/story that's so integral to the narrative, it's really interesting. It feels strange to respond to a letter not meant for you, so I'll just leave you with the fact that I enjoyed this follow-up. +1
