I was very impressed with the dominating mood you commanded in this piece, pretty much always present. Everything contributes to this, but the speaker's voice is the best part of it for me. At no point did I feel like she made a jump in motivations or logic or anything. There is a very solid throughline here and I appreciate that a lot. Plus, I really like the thematic implications of the speaker never being named. It really represents the unimportance she is saddled with, becoming only a symbol of no child and nothing else. To Kari, her name doesn't matter anymore, so it doesn't matter to her, so we don't even get a name from her.
And the Green Moon!!!! I'm always so intrigued whenever it pops up, I love the idea of this entity weaving its way through stories, meddling with them. The intrigue for that has never died for me. Additionally, I feel like this story is a great example of leaving me wanting for more while still actually completing the presented narrative. I am awash in ideas with what will happen when this baby is born, how the speaker will justify Kari's death to the town, and more.
