Ough you continue to amaze me. Even your stream of consciousness stuff is exceedingly well written. (I also love peaches very dearly, but because of a song more than anything). Glad to see this here!

this one is the first cannonball in the pool in june. sprinkler under the mesquite in the new years of sunscreen where our parents didnt know of it but made damn sure we did. your friend's birthday party in july at the place with all the tennis courts and they bring out the cheese tortillas with the green chiles all over and at the end theres ice cold watermelon slices from the cooler, sweeter and more enticing than all the frosted cans of orange fanta and dr pepper readily available all day. chlorine stinging the eyes and grandma soaking cotton balls in icy witch hazel out of the refrigerator to press against them (do not do this because your sclerae can also be chemical-burned!). barbecue chicken falling off the bone dunked into butter and smoke sauce absolutely ruining a forest's worth of napkins, hotter than hades, and you know what hot is because it hasnt been under 100 in five days since you arrived at your grandparents' house.

I really loved this, it feels a lot like some of your earlier work but I can't explain why. The language used is lovely, it's poetic but also casual and it wraps me up and tells me a story. It's joyous and odd and I grieve the loss of this fruit stand in the desert and I hope you find it again <3

he has the cracked and wrinkly blasted and parched desert skin one gathers after marrying oneself to the desert and all its nighttime promises

So poetic, and yet the stream of consciousness makes it so casual – I'd love to meet someone who thinks like this!
