I wanted to ask if anyone knows why the domain for the WL sandbox is HTTP and isn't HTTPS.

Wikidot requires the site owner to have a premium membership to allow SSL connection and an HTTPS url; premium members can only own so many sites. As we share a premium account with SCP, we elected to prioritize the SCP Wiki, Wanderers' Library, and O5 Command sites for SSL connections.

TLDR Unfortunate consequence of Wikidot's pricing model.
