One hundred stories. One hundred pieces about love, violence, monsters, death, galactic empires, gods, demons, broken people and hope. Four hubs to my name, entire canons. Many collaborations with other writers. My name inscribed as one of the most prominent authors in The Wanderers' Library. Three stories that have made it to actual print.
It feels overwhelming, even as I write this, to realise how far I have come. And yet, it all comes back here, to my firstborn and favorite child, though I often neglect him: Ulak the Drifter was my first original character, my key to the kingdom that is this site. Had I not sat down to write him almost six years ago at my father's house in the middle of the Michoacán wilderness, I might have never written anything else at all.
I want to thank Maxyfran for giving feedback on this story and for creating Tianhong, a character who I think shares many similarities with Ulak. I am very honored to have finally written for her, and that this marks my hundredth piece. He is a great writer in his own right, and a superb reader.
And with all that said and done, wearing my crown of golden thorns and searing light, I bid you — dearest friends from the Library — a happy reading, and many more to come.
