I love this piece. I like how the language shifts throughout. At the beginning the prose is dense (not in a bad way, just that it is packed with wonderful turns of phrase and metaphor) but as we move forward you become more personable speaking to the reader and the prose defenses, as they may be, lower to let us in to see the real you much like what you said in the piece, that with each surgery you become closer to knowing yourself. So I really enjoy that you've imparted me with that same experience
