A collab between PallidAlbumen and I for the second writprompt, responding to the wonderful Katherine Wolff's Journal. Alternate universe rendition of the character. Prose poetry written in the context of the last days of the golden age of air smuggling, a period from the late 1960s to 1970s where aging WWII era and ex-airline propeller aircraft made hops across the Caribbean, being operated by both syndicates and individual entrepreneurs alike. Thank you to zipzipskins and UncannyClown for their crit.

Lessgo, Kathy Wolff! This has always been a character I've wanted to write for, so seeing someone write for her is such a delight!~ Of course, this piece is such a well constructed moment stuck in time, really nailing that stagnant air and rusty, weathered feel of this smuggling era. Loved it.

i said it all in crit but this sure is great. it's such a brilliant little slice that's even more explosive now than when i read it the first time. like a perfectly ticking clock or a little crystal. +1

I've always admired this style of prose: the smooth, rhythmic ebb and flow gives it that unique, stimulating narrative voice, and every word choice envelops both the taste buds and retinas—I can't put my finger on it, it just has so much sensory appeal, and to top it all off—it's a period piece, what's not to gush about here? I do relish the smell of petroleum, I give it +1 because this is so gas.

A brilliant little brush of blue in an ocean of gray, sketched out by careful hands and hung with pride. You two work fabulously together, the results a wonderful piece of prose poetry that elevated both the style and character.
