Hey guys, i'm a new member of the WL, i love this place but have a few questions being
1) (OOC) Are experts from each book part of the book, like pages in the book, or are they just like in the same shelf.

2) If the Serpent's Hand aren't the only people in the library, why is that their base of operations? How does the society contribute to the Library?

3) I've read somewhere,that the Library contains every single book that have been written and will be written. Did people across the ages contribute or did it just suddenly in the Library?

4) Do the Serpent's Hand society experiment on the SCP's or anomalies (We should come up with a new nickname :P)? Who exactly are the Serpent Hand? (Apart of being a group of people who want to expose the anomalies and make them considered "normal")

Greetings! It's always nice to meet new members!

As for your questions, stuff about the Library and Serpent's Hand is left fairly vague. This is mostly by design, but I'll answer them as best I can. Most of the answers are taken in some degree from either the Universe Q&A or the Serpents Hand hub on the SCP Foundation.

It depends. There are things like the The Haskhakian Inscriptions, which are part of a single book, while other works, like The Spirit World are explicitly parts of a multivolume set that just have a general running theme.

2) If the Serpent's Hand aren't the only people in the library, why is that their base of operations?

Well, they're a secret society of magicians and weirdos. It doesn't get much more magical or weird than the Library, a hub to all the known worlds. More practically, though, it's a place that many of them know how to get to and that the Foundation cannot enter.

How does the society contribute to the Library?

It depends on how you think the Library works. If you think that the Library is just a big, automatic thing, where books blink into existence and docents run everything, then probably the SH doesn't do much to help it, except maybe providing documentation of new Ways and experiments. If, however, you maintain that the Library collects things and has people bring it stuff, then the SH has a much greater presence for the Library.

There's no one agreed-upon answer, in-universe or out. Whichever works best for the kind of story you want to tell!

Some branches, most definitely. One of the defining features of the SH is its fractiousness. The formatted documentation for things that the Serpents Hand writes includes an entire section of argument and passive-aggressive sniping (this isn't the only interpretation of them, by any means, but it's the most recent and popular, as far as I can tell). So doubtlessly, there are some factions of the SH that are less ethical and more interested in experimentation than others.

Who exactly are the Serpent Hand?

For the Sandbox, the sidebar is mostly so authors can easily find their respective pages. Given that it's mostly a place to edit works, share them for critique, and see how they show up in WikiDot formatting, there's no real need for a recently posted/edited page.
