I agree with moose about the design of the creature and the generally enigmatic tone. The only thing that bugs me is the repeated use of the word "crack". I wish that the author varied their vocabulary somewhat.

I like how the main scene was described. I feel like the ending could have been executed much better, but no major complaints here.

A short, neat and interesting story. Not sure if this is a part of a series (because of the final line) or standalone, but I found it fun regardless.

A really simple story, but the way it's described is really captivating. The scene is simple, but the concept behind it is really good, and the way it's written even more so.
