So, there's the 001 proposals on the SCP Foundation. Things that started the foundation and how they came to be. Real dangerous stuff. So my proposal to you-What would be the SH equivalent of the 001 proposals? How did the hand come to be? Is it the library? A person? One strange text? Would it even be feasible? I personally think it could be done, and that it would be very interesting to think about.

I suppose it could either be a set of origin stories for the Serpent's Hand, or a set of origin stories for the Library. Could be a fun idea.

Could be either. I imagine half the interest would be in developing what started the rest: maybe the Hand was responsible for creating the Library, or maybe the Books started it all. Perhaps the Library sinlgehandedly started the Hand, or the Hand created it inadvertandly. Perhaps each came into existence at the same time to fufill the needs of the other.

I could write a (as in one of many) origin stories of the Library. Peri's been around long enough.

This is true.

It's just it's easier to write from the perspective of a character you've already developed. I suppose I could describe someone entering the Library for the first time.

So, for those of you who weren't in the chat: We're going to do this as a book of treatises and theories on the origin of the Library from various scholars. So, write up your origin story as a scholarly paper, and don't forget to cite your sources (which you're free to make-up or take from other books in the Library). Bonus points for using the same citation format from Genii Loci.
