Planasthai: A Weekly Magazine for Wanderers

Bunton and I had discussed this idea a few weeks back. We had intended to start a magazine for the WL focusing on wandering, the surreal and that "sense of wonder" we all know and love. The name of the magazine "Planasthai" comes from the Greek word "to wander".
Today I had an idea that pushed the magazine back into the front of my brain. We need a missed connections page that suits the WL and the magazine would be the best place to put it. The page would be collaborative.

The magazine would also have a bunch of features and writers. It would be a good place to have "journalism" or "tabloid" style articles. Let me know what you think.

I'm trying to imagine what an article about wandering would be like…

Ah, I remember this. As I recall, it arose from a discussion of a format that would allow authors to easily use images in their entries. I'm still hoping that that's a function of it which is freely put to use.

And since I was involved in its inception and am already planning a cooking segment with a god of plenty, you can probably all tell I approve of it.

@Everyone: Yes this is the sort of project that everybody should contribute to.

@Bunton: Yes. This would certainly be a format open to images. It may even feature image galleries taken by staff photographers.

@Jack Manganese: "Wandering" may have been a poor choice of words on my part. Travel, the occult, the esoteric and strange would probably be more accurate descriptors.

Edit: Although if you *need* articles on how to mathematically simulate Brownian motion, I can set you up. : )

Move. Move! It had to move, but what direction? There were so many: up, backward, down, right, and more. So many more! How could it choose? How could it know? Where was it headed? The particle couldn't remember. It couldn't even remember if it had ever moved at all.

No time for indecision. Can't afford to panic! The tiny particle focused all its will, concentrated all of its determination, and made the most important decision of its life: It chose. It chose a direction and it moved.

Which way did it go? The particle had already forgotten, but it didn't matter. It had fulfilled its purpose. The task was complete and now it could rest and bask in the contentment of a job well done.

So, this morning, and this is not a joke, first day of class, professor randomly assigns topics for us to write papers on. My topic: Brownian motion.
