A short while ago, a few of us on chat (namely, Balth, Wilt, FlameShirt and me) got to talking about our respective culture's mythology. At some point, the idea was raised to write an article based on the interactions of different mythology; which is to say, different mythological characters coming together and slagging each other off.
This is to be a collaborative project, involving as many authors as possible. Each would provide for their own mythology of choice by coming on IRC (we've set up an independant channel) and doing an in-character dialogue with whatever other authors are online. The mythological character or characters they portray during these events is entirely up to them, so long as its something they're familiar with. These dialogues would then be logged, converted to story format and stitched together into a collection.
The premise is of a wedding of two specific myths (we're thinking Scylla and Charybdis, but that might be subject to change), with the dialogues being between guests. The channel for the discussion of this and the in-character meetings is #WLMythologyProject, but what we really need is participants. If anyone wants to, make a post on this forum so I can keep tabs of all the people involved, and add #WLMythologyProject to autojoin. We welcome anyone who's interested.
