Honestly MC&D is interesting to me because of the cool relationships each one of them has with the other, not because of any of the stuff they sell. They are all interesting individually as characters, and far more so together, which is really why I love stories like these. :D
Wow, my baby is three years old now. Re-reading it, I want to go back and fix all of the awful mistakes I made. Some other time.
Anyway, changed the names around, so that this conforms to the more widely-held view that it is Carter that's the baby-eating husk of a man, while Marshall is the glass-eyed, ever-young husk of a man.
I didn't realize this site had such graphic depictions of violence (there's your warning, if you required such). It's interesting to see such patently SCPverse writing here; I clearly misunderstood this site on multiple levels. That being said, I feel this stands on its own, devoid of Foundationverse context. Looking through the discussion, it's clear this is part of a larger continuity, but it doesn't have to be. If this were a more extensive review, I'd point out some typos, but overall this receives my stamp of approval.
Excellent. But you’ve heard that by now! This is one of the older stories on the Library but man, does it show this site has always had unbelievably creative and tightly-written fiction. Like Flops said, that tension and apprehension in the first murder is so thick you can cut it with a knife - then the whiplash of the next one hits you, and the next. Then it clarifies itself by the end, The Murder of Dorian Grey. Great stuff.
