Canon/Shared story universe idea involving the library

Not sure if this should go here or in the Proposals section, feel free to change if it is. Anyway, here's my idea:

Within the Library is a Book Club made up of a variety of members from all across the various universes to meet up and talk about books. And sometimes end up solving mysteries and having adventures in the Library and various universes connected to it. I'll be honest, I got the idea from some of the Canon stuff on the SCP site and I've been thinking about some canon-y stuff in the Library for sometime now.

That there is the basic plot/idea and I was wondering what everyone here thought. Feel free to utterly slate it.

There's not enough here to really critique, but it seems fine to me. I'd be interested to see what you do with it.

That would, it seems to me, take rather good writing to do, and would have to involve a few well-developed and engaging characters in order to succeed as an ongoing canon, but there's no reason it couldn't work. It's just that stories which involve the Library itself are very ambitious, and have to be handled a little bit more carefully so that they don't come across as piggy-backing off of the Library as interesting setting to appear interesting themselves.

I would advise drafting up an article, going through the usual review media and seeing how it's received.

Also keep in mind that it's probable that people are always going to depict the Library however they see fit, as they imagine it and as fits the article their writing, regardless of existing articles or article-series which have one specific and consistent canon. This is, I believe, and encouraged, and (in my own opinion) encourageable method to approach site-canon. Though it of course doesn't preclude something like this, so erm… go for it!
