So I'll just explain what all this is about, why I'm here, in this post, because I am really not all that active here and honestly know virtually nothing about this wiki.
My ideas for writing have been tilting more towards fantasy or science fantasy than sci-fi lately, and I feel like my sci-fi is best placed on the SCP wiki. More than that, I've known about this site for a while and, because it's quite quiet, I suspect it'll be easier to follow than the SCP wiki's newfound breakneck pace. I want to help this site grow until I can get back into "true" SCP universe stuff. To serve this goal, I've decided to write a 5-sentence review of a random work on this site every day until I can no longer keep up the pace. This was the first piece to pop up when I hit the random page button, so this is as good a place to start as any. With the exposition out of the way, let's get to it.
There's a lot to take in here. I suspect this features established characters, but it does a good job expositing without relying on their outer backstory (if there is any). The protagonist/narrator's inner monologue is a solid depiction of what I know many abuse victims go through (at this point, I will go ahead and warn readers of this review that this story involves abuse). The story is quite brief, much to its benefit; I'd assumed, considering where this story was posted, that it would contain some paranormal element, but it doesn't, which is also to its benefit. Overall, a good place to start this review series (and hopefully, a good measure of the Wanderer's Library's quality), though not necessarily a good introduction to the Wanderer's Library overall.
