Names
When they started building it they gave it many names; Titan, Nimbus, Galaxy Class.
As the plans were changed and expanded, new names were given; Deliverance, Hope’s End, Traveler.
As the ideas came faster, technology advancing to allow this single project, the names became longer; System’s Thief, Guardian of the Stars, Megalith.
Then they stood back, and saw the full extent of their task, and became more serious; Infinity, Domination, Alpha.
Then, as it was completed, they realized it could have no name. Nothing could define it, nothing could describe it, it simply was. It could have no name for none encompass its size, its power and its purpose.
It was the ship.
